Server Agent Installation

The Disk Status monitoring agent collects disk health data from your servers and sends it to the platform.

Prerequisites

Before installing the agent, ensure you have:

  1. Created a server entry in Disk Status
  2. Your Server UUID (found on the server setup page)
  3. Administrative/root access to your server

Installation Steps

The setup page for each server provides detailed installation instructions. The general process is:

  1. Download the Agent: Get the latest version of the monitoring agent for your operating system
  2. Configure the Agent: Set your Server UUID in the agent configuration
  3. Start the Agent: Run the agent as a service

Verifying the Connection

After installation:

  1. The agent will begin collecting disk information
  2. Disks will appear in your Disk Status dashboard within a few minutes
  3. Check the server page to confirm disks are being detected

Troubleshooting

If disks are not appearing:

  • Verify the agent is running on your server
  • Check that the Server UUID is correctly configured
  • Ensure your server can reach the Disk Status API endpoints
  • Review the agent logs for any error messages
